We anticipate starting our season in early September for most age groups. Typically, U7 will start a couple of weeks later.
FMHA follows the new Hockey Canada age division structure. See below for the divisions for the 2021-22 season:
- U7 (previously Initiation/PreNovice) = 2015/2016/2017
- U9 (previously Novice) = 2013/2014
- U11 (previously Atom) = 2011/2012
- U13 (previously Peewee) = 2009/2010
- U15 (previously Bantam) = 2007/2008
- U18 (previously Midget) = 2004/2005/2006
Note that early registration ends June 15th. A $100 late fee will be added to all registrations after June 15th at U11 and older.
Last day to register is Sept 1st. Any registration requests after Sept 1 are not guaranteed a spot and will be assessed by the FMHA Executive on a case-by-case basis depending on registration numbers.
A minimum $50 non-refundable deposit is required upon registration to secure a spot.
Once again, we offer online payments or you may choose “off-line” and pay with cash, cheque or etransfer.
New this year, we have offered an instalment payment plan option online.
All fees are due in full by September 1st. No player will be permitted on the ice until their fees are paid in full.
To register, you will require a Team Snap account log-in (you may already have one from a previous year, another family member, or another sport). If you do not yet have a Team Snap account, you may create one during the process.
Your player also requires a Hockey Canada ID#. Anyone who has ever played minor hockey anywhere in Canada, will already have an ID#. If you registered last season via Team Snap, the Hockey Canada ID# should automatically populate into the forms when you log in to register. Hockey Canada is currently upgrading their eHockey system therefore if you need assistance in finding your Hockey Canada ID# or are new to hockey and need to get a #, you will currently have to contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org and we will facilitate the process. Note, this may take a couple of days to occur, so do not wait to contact us if you need assistance!
U9-U11 Recreational Hockey option –new this season, we are in the process of developing a U9-U11 Recreational Hockey option. The vision for this program is one session per week (day and time TBD – sessions will start in October) – this will be practice/shinny only – no games. The operation of this program will be dependant on enrolment numbers, ice availability, and sufficient volunteer staff. If this recreational program interests you, please register! If for any reason, the program is unable to operate, you will be offered a refund of your deposit or the option to convert it to regular registration.
There are several forms requiring completion during the registration process. The easiest method is to download the forms to your desktop, complete them, save again to your desktop and then upload to the registration. You may also print out the forms, complete them, and scan and re-upload in PDF form during the process. Your player’s registration is not complete until you have finished all phases and completed the payment process. You will receive a confirmation email that your registration is complete. If you are struggling with any part of the process please contact us at email@example.com .
**Anyone wanting their player to play in a category outside of their designated birth year, must enrol in the birth year category and then submit a request in writing, (specifying the details and rationale of their request) to the FMHA Executive via firstname.lastname@example.org .
