-Shoulder Pads
-Elbow Pads
-Hockey Gloves
-Athletic Cup
-Hockey Pants
-Shin Pads
-Skates

U11 is for children 9-10 yrs old by December 31 of the current hockey season.
The season typically starts at the beginning of September and ends mid-March.
Two 60 min practices per week. Generally in the early evenings. Days and times may rotate and will be decided prior to the beginning of each season when number of kids and number of teams is determined. In most seasons there are sufficient numbers of players to form two teams to play in the A and B/C Divisions of the EK League. Evaluations / tryouts may be necessary to form the teams depending on number of players registered. Parents will be provided with all related information in advance.
League play of 10-20 games throughout the season is generally on weekends, and may involve travel to Creston, Cranbrook, Kimberley, Invermere, Golden, Fernie, Sparwood, Elkford and Whitefish, MT.
Away tournaments will be decided by each team with coaches/managers and information forwarded to the parents as available. There is an expectation that all players participate in team events as this is a team sport. If you have concerns about commitment or availability of your player, please inform the coach prior to season start. The cost for tournaments varies and is separate/additional from the initial registration fees.
Fernie Minor Hockey is a volunteer-run organization. Fernie will host a home tournament for the U11 division in November. Parents are expected to volunteer for fundraising, concession, raffle table, 50/50 and score keeping.|
If you are interested in volunteering as a team coach, manager or safety person, please fill out a volunteer application by August 1st. https://www.fernieminorhockey.net/volunteer-application/
Coaches and managers will use TeamSnap to communicate to parents and players. Downloading this free app is recommended.
