All players living in the Fernie catchment area must register in Fernie even if your player was released last year to play in another association through tryouts.
Due to our limited ice time and limited capacities, we need early hockey commitments to enable us to plan our season.
Note that FMH no longer offers an early bird discount.
Our registration will close on May 31.
All registrations on June 1 or later will have a $250 late fee attached for all returning families.
We can only make exceptions for those who are newly moved to Fernie and those families who are brand new to hockey.
Our rates have not increased (these rates are last year’s early bird rates).
We have also been forced to set maximum capacities in each division due to limited ice and allowable roster sizes.
All registrations after the set capacity is reached will be waitlisted, even if this occurs before May 31.
Every effort will be made to accommodate all players who register by May 31, however movement off the waitlist will be done in chronological order and will depend on multiple factors such as results of regional tryouts, therefore waitlist movement may not occur until August or later.
We continue our partnership with Elk Valley Minor Hockey (EVMH) in order to provide competitive and recreational options for all U13 and older divisions.
We are excited that we expect to roster teams in all age divisions U7 through U18.
We will continue with our popular once weekly Friday Rec hockey skills program for those who want to have fun learning basic hockey skills without the commitment of games or travel.
Our best estimate of teams to be offered are:
- U7 ($350) 1-2 FMH teams
- U9 ($450) 2-3 FMH teams
- U11 ($525) 3 FMH teams (1 competitive and 2 recreational)
- U13 ($575) 1-2 “rep” Raiders teams + 2 FMH recreational teams
- U15 ($625) 1 “rep” Raiders team + 1 FMH recreational team
- U18 ($625) 1 FMH U18 team (EV also expects to have a team)
- Once weekly Friday Recreational Hockey Skills Program (U9 to U13) ($275) for those players who prefer not to commit to a form team, games, or travel
Due to our extremely limited ice and this large # of teams, our past traditional scheduling of a set 2 practices per week on full ice will be modified for all groups.
Our schedule will be finalized in August or early Sept once all teams are formed. All joint teams with EVMH will continue to have rotating practices in Fernie, Sparwood and Elkford.
You will need your player’s Hockey Canada #’s to enter during the process.
You will also need their BC MSP Health # .
There is also a fillable PDF medical form at the medical question in the registration process- please fill this out and save it to your device, so that you can upload it at that point in the registration.
A non-refundable $75 deposit is due at the time of registration.

Any deposits not received by June 8th will be considered incomplete registrations and will have the late fee added.
An instalment payment plan option is available with online credit card payments if you choose.
Full fees are due by Sept 1st prior to a player being allowed on the ice.

U13 and U15 EV Raiders tryouts are open now with a deadline of August 1.
All Raiders tryout registrations after Aug 1 will have an additional $50 late fee added.
